For those of you on PS3 like my self we got the release of the 2nd map pack for Call of Duty Modern Warefare 2. This new map pack called the ” Resurgence Pack” is the follow up to the “Stimulus Pack”. Like the stimulus pack this new map pack features 5 maps for $15 of which 2 are ported over from COD MW, and the other 3 are all new:

Carnival,” a large abandoned theme park that offers lots of unique vantage points that work well for all game modes. The once vibrant rides now sit idle and neglected as perfect cover points in one of the most original multiplayer locations for Modern Warfare 2.

“Fuel,” a massive oil refinery with extremely long sightlines great for medium- to long-range firefights. The spacious surroundings offer a great sniper advantage; offices, warehouses, and buildings house objectives and provide opportunity for close-range firefights.

“Trailer Park,” a medium-sized mobile estate with a maze of tight flank routes and lots of cover. Junk covered yards, deserted trailers, and debris-riddled surroundings offer intense firefights with a wide variety of vantage points and routes available.

“Strike,” a large urban desert town, excellent for medium-to-large team games. The large monument, connecting streets, and surrounding buildings offer great firefights in Team Deathmatch, and great vantage points for objective team games.

“Vacant,” a deserted Russian office complex offering a great mixture of interior and exterior combat. Long hallways with minimal cover points offer a fast escape route for potential runners, but high accuracy and fast aiming is required when advancing through this large complex.

As a fan of Ron Paul and his previous book “The Revolution”. I had to pick up his new book and give it a read. I started on it yesterday and already read a 1/3 of it. Im hoping to have it completed by the end of the week. Also its been my first book to read on the Barnes & Noble Nook which I might add is very nice to read on. Ill be sure to update this post with a final review once completed.

UPDATE:

Wow that was fast for me. I completed the entire book in 3 days. I posted up the following review on Barns & Noble’s website so instead of rewriting the same thing Ill just post that review here:

As someone that has read other books by Dr. Paul I had a general idea I would like this book. This book was a great follow up to my read of Crash Proof 2.0 by Peter Schiff as it just reassured his points. I believe everyone of every political view should read this book. It does a great job explaining the moral, constitutional and the economical reasons the federal reserve system should be abolished and why inflation is a tool used to steal wealth from the middle class and poor. I highly recommend this book as well as a follow up read of Peter Schiff’s Crash Proof 2.0

I recently got my self a Toy Aussie Shepard about a week ago. She is 8 weeks old and total terror so far, so much so that we already hired a dog trainer. I know they are full of energy but I had no idea what I was getting my self into with this breed. Im also not one to think puppies are a lot of work as my father breed black labs when I was kid and I use to help out with them all the time when they had litters.

Any way this post isnt so much about the dog as it is the pics I shot of it recently with my new $100 lens. I recently picked up a Canon “niffty fifty” as its called as I heard so many good things about it. At first I couldnt believe that a $100 lens would be that good, but honestly now that I have been shooting with it I love it. I use it more then I thought I ever would. Below are some of the shots of the new pup.

I have tried not to post political stuff on my personal blog as I wanted to keep my political beliefs separate from my hobbies. I decided today that after endorsing my friend Tyler Andrews for Nevada state assembly that I would at least encourage readers and fellow Nevadans to get educated on the up coming elections.

The Nevada primary elections are in June of this year (June 8th to be exact) and in order to know who to vote for you need to read up on each of the candidates. You would think this would be an easy task but not quite so. So I have put together a few links to make the process easier.

Step 1 - Find Your District: You need to find out who you can actually vote for. The state is broke up into districts for Nevada Senate, Nevada Assembly, and even the U.S. House Of Representatives. To find out what districts your in simply go here:

http://mapserve.leg.state.nv.us/website/lcb/viewer.htm

On the page enter your address and zip code in the upper left hand side and hit enter. The site will give you a list of districts and current representatives.

Step 2 - Find Out The Candidates: All of the candidates had to have their paper work filed between March 1st 2010 and March 12th 2010, so that means by now if they are running they have filed. The one thing is they could have filed in different areas such as with the Secretary of State or County Recorders Office. So here are the direct links to checking out those filings:

Secretary Of State: http://nvsos.gov/index.aspx?page=337

Clark County: http://redrock.co.clark.nv.us/candfile/

Washoe County: http://www.co.washoe.nv.us/voters/2010candidates.html

As you look over the candidates I personally don’t take anyone serious unless they have a website as its the only way to really learn about a candidate and their standings on the issues. However just because one isn’t listed on the fillings doesn’t mean they don’t have one so be sure to do a Google search prior to crossing them off the list, as they might not have had a site at the time of the filing and therefore it wont be listed.

Step 3 – Register To Vote. If you haven’t already registered I encourage you to get registered. Also if you have moved or changed political party you need to make sure to update your info as you will not get your materials for the primary.

You can register and update your registration here: http://nvsos.gov/index.aspx?page=76

Also one last think to note about the Primary election. If your registered as an Independent or any other party besides (R) or (D) you will not get to vote in the Primary on (R) and (D) candidates like you can do in other states. So if your hoping to vote for a candidate running under one of those tickets you should update your party affiliation with that party.

I hope this helps some of you get educated. I like a lot of others use to just vote for whoever had the party initial next to their name that I was affiliated with, but this is truly the worst thing you can do. You really need to learn about the best candidates and vote for them in the primary election so that you can get people that make real change and will serve your beliefs best.

I came across this video and just had to post it. Porsche does an awesome job of connecting with your emotions on this one. There is a part at the end of the commercial where the narrator says something along the lines of “Theirs the moment you know you want one, theirs the moment you first own one, and for the truly afflicted there is the decade or two that past in between.” Im at the point of I know I want to own one, but not lucky enought to be at the point of first owning one.

Recently picked up Crash Proof 2.0 as I have been listening to Peter Schiff a lot on several news stations and even on some youtube clips. He has a very interesting perspective on the current economic crisis and I tend to agree with everything he has said so far in the book. Im about 4 chapters in so Ill be sure to update the post once Im done with book.

UPDATE:

I finally completed the book. I was so slow to finishing this mainly due to being extremely busy in my personal life that I haven’t had a ton of time to dedicate to my reading. I must say that Peter Schiff makes valid points through out the book and explains come complex economics in easy to understand ways. He explains about how he believes (and which I also believe) that hyper-inflation is only a matter of time away unless the government does something to deal with run away spending and the Federal Reserve consistently injecting liquidity in to the market place. The book also covers ways to protect your self. Towards the end it sounds a little bit like a sales pitch for his company Euro Pacific, however I believe that he truly believes in what he is selling, something not always on the minds of money managers.

This book to me is a must read, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to understand why the market it booming while unemployment is high and there is no sign of real job creation in sight.
